Sunday Assignment

Please leave a comment saying what you "see"/ feel/ what this page means to you.

Try not to read the previous comments so you don't get influenced...

Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks so much for all your comments! That was so neat to read all the different views. Just for you curious ones out there - what I intended with the page was showing all the boxes and labeling them - was of all the things that we "think" keep us from our dreams. We think we are too old, we think we don't have enough money, we can't because of the family or kids, because there's no TIME, or we are afraid etc. I'd like people to "get out of the boxes" and just go for your dreams. NO excuses.

  1. Hello. To me this means that, in order to have an unencumbered view of the moment, you sometimes box away overwhelming concerns or issues to deal with them later, maybe letting them "simmer" until you are ready to deal with them. Joani, new to Blissful Art Journaling.

  2. Didn't read the previous post. I see two things. One--words associated with moving and of course boxes for moving
And the other-the boxes that we put ourselve into that keep us from moving forward.

  3. It seems to me that you have to compartmentalize the world in order to understand and control it. There is no outlet for fun,joy and spontaneity. So long as you stay in your own world where you can control all your anxieties and fears you feel safe.

well I reallt like the opening picture of the pines and lake.
you painting says to me that you are boxed in.on certain things in your life. the picture in the bac ground has a wheel pool in it that could also be a circling of you life. Trish

  5. I feel the adjustment of a move. Having to build roots all over again. These pages are awesome!!

  6. Does it mean that you have divided your worries and joys into segments of yourself, that you are feeling locked in,unable to enjoy the freedom of the view in the background?

  7. We tend to separate all our worries and problems into individual compartments, but what we need is a blank slate, like the village square, with a clear path, in order to move onward. Now that all problems are safely in packing and moving boxes, time to get the moving truck and be on your way to the open path.

  8. I see it as:
We each have different aspects of our lives that are in their own boxes. It's sometimes better to keep them separate so we can focus on what we need to.

  9. If my life was all in one big box I would just go into melt-down!!!

  10. How I interpret it is that all those issues keep us in our "boxes" and the only way to move ahead on our paths (the path in the town that we can see) is to first climb out of those boxes.

Well done! (However you have interpreted it anyway.) Now I am going to read what everyone else sees.

  11. Hmmm...to me, the boxes represent the many forces in your life that you must attend to. Some are bigger than others, some are inter-connected or dependent upon others. At times, you must compartmentalize, move, and rearrange them to have balance in your life.

  12. I think it's the "boxes" that people try to fit you into. Going to read the other comments now!

  13. We tend to compartmentalize the different aspects of our lives.....what is important though is to think outside those boxes of confinement for true joy, liberation and power. Great journal page Cheryl.

  14. My first thought was get rid of all the boxes - too linear and square, let those lovely things be organic and "growing" rather than boxed in. And yet, there is a comfort in boxes sometimes too, isn't there ? They make it easier to carry things...;)
Bravo for exploring like this, Cheryl. I love that you challenmged your readers to give their thoughts this way.
Thanks for the bloglove today too. Have a great week!

  15. I see two things depending. One is that you are boxing up everything in your life so far to start fresh and the other is that you feel like your life is compartmentalized in separate pieces. I don't think I like either of my interpretations.

  16. Looks to me like things that hold you back - things that weigh you down - things that you have to carry around with you.

    Maybe time to declutter?

    : )

(Oh, also I didn't read any other comments before I posted this because I didn't want to be influenced since you asked for our opinion. So I apologize if I am giving the same answer as someone else.)

  17. The boxes all have specific expectations, packed away nice and neat. Maybe to really live fully we need to open up and unpack and step outside the box.
