Artfest Fatbook pages

I got my pages done awhile ago.. I wanted to ship them out early since it can take awhile to get to the states. Here are some pics.

That's a little fuzzy maple leaf on the back side - for Canada!

I can't wait to get the book - we get it the first night of artfest.

Altered Curiosities

Great name for a book! I got this ordered in for me at the library and it is the new book by Jane Ann Wynn.

Sorry for the crappy pics, its really grey out today and I had to use the flash.

Neat stuff in here - I like the tutorials on different things, like cutting pipe and making bezels. Gonna have to get me some resin!

And how to cut through glass! Awesome - I can think of tons of ideas with this.

Some people may not like this type of art, but I love the altered quality and uniqueness of it.

Gets the ideas flowing too!

Book giveaway!

Of course you know I'm in! Books? C'mon...

The blog is cmscanlon.blogspot.com and you have until Feb 4 to sign up! She is giving away TWO copies of her book "Art from the Heart"

And an ART book? Even better!

500 Handmade Dolls

500 Handmade Dolls book put out by Lark Books. Huge book full of inspiration and a must for any doll maker.

Some of my favourites...

I got this copy at my library! - of course. But not a bad price at $24.95US for this size of a book.

Flea market finds

Some of my "haul"

Kids books and a pile of old laugh magazines

This neat little bird cage- only about 5" high and the roof comes off!

A bunch of old patterns,

And a box full of old pictures - taken from calenders, books and greeting cards. Neat for collage!

Sneak Peek

HOw does almost a week go by? Yikes...

I guess cause I was trying to finish 58!!! artfest fatbook pages. Here are some sneak peeks. I will post more later. I got them all mailed out though yesterday - that's a relief!

I also went to some flea markets on Sat and found a great new one! Tons of stuff crammed in and good prices! I will show pics of some stuff tomorrow. Getting dark here now to take them.

And on Monday, I took Sarah for her drivers written test and she got it! Yay! Now she has a year to do her drivers test. She drove home part of the way and she did really well - Way to go Sarah! She is happy.

Ya know, I don't really mind if the time flies right now cause its almost Feb and that is the worst month for me - dark and cold and neverending. Good thing its short!

Case in Point - even the animals

See previous post.

So true..

Why I love Ontario

It's Winter in Ontario
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles an hour at 52 below!
Oh, how I love Ontario,
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Ontario
Cause I'm frozen to the ground.

Some more Etsy

This is a photo page I put on Etsy last week. 2 sides of pictures from 1926-27.

And in other news... Sarah got her hair all chopped off! It looks good -she surprised me when I picked her up after christmas break. Here it is straightened, but she also lets it go curly and it looks cute. It makes her look older which is appropiate since it was just her 16th birthday.

Isn't she a cutie?

Etsy...

Some more items I listed yesterday,

This is a great vintage photo page from an old album. It would be great altered or used as a frame for a neat photo or small painting. I am selling this for $5.00 and I have more of these in different shapes too.

This one of a kind tin type photo is listed for $10.00.

I am working on some more things too!
